1. How to delete your account & data
Option A — from inside the app (fastest)
- Open the MaxiMoney app or visit credit.maximoney.in and sign in.
- Tap your avatar (top-right) → Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation screen, then confirm with a fresh OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
The account is queued for deletion immediately. You will be signed out across all devices.
Option B — by email
Write to nevaid@maximoney.in from the email address registered on your account, with the subject line “Delete my MaxiMoney account”. Include your registered mobile number in the body. We may ask one verification question (e.g. last 4 digits of your PAN) before processing, to make sure we are deleting the right account.
2. What gets deleted
Once your request is processed, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our active systems:
- Your profile (name, phone, email, PAN, address, DOB, gender).
- Your credit-bureau reports (current and historical), pulled on your consent.
- Your tracked loans, credit cards, DPD history and EMI optimisation records.
- Your subscription mandate and Razorpay subscription metadata held by us (Razorpay also receives a cancellation signal).
- Your support conversations and admin notes.
- Marketing-attribution identifiers and analytics events linked to your account.
- Your sign-in identity (you cannot recover the account — you would have to sign up again as a new user).
3. What is retained, and why
Some data must be retained even after account deletion, only because law or financial regulation requires it. We minimise this to the legal minimum.
| Data | Retained for | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice records, GST records, payment receipts | 10 years | Income Tax Act / GST Act / RBI guidelines for service providers |
| Consent records (for which consents you gave, and when) | 5 years | DPDP Act 2023 audit trail |
| Anonymised event logs (no PII) | 2 years | Security investigation & fraud prevention |
| Records under a current legal hold (litigation, regulator request) | Until the hold is lifted | Legal obligation |
This retained data is segregated, encrypted, accessible only to a narrow set of named employees, and never used for marketing or product analytics.
4. Timeline
| Step | Timeline |
|---|---|
| You request deletion | Day 0 |
| We acknowledge the request | Within 24 hours |
| Identity verification (if needed) | Within 3 working days |
| Active data deleted from all production systems | Within 7 working days |
| Deletion removed from encrypted backups (next backup-rotation cycle) | Within 30 days |
| You receive a written confirmation | On completion |
5. Effect on your subscription
If your subscription is active when you request deletion:
- The subscription is automatically cancelled. No further charges are processed.
- You are not refunded for the current billing cycle (see Refund Policy).
- You lose access immediately on account deletion, even though the cycle has not ended — this is your choice when you opt to delete.
6. After deletion
- You cannot recover the account; the data is gone.
- You may sign up again as a new user with the same or a different mobile number. The new account will be empty (no historical loans, no past score, no past consents).
- Razorpay will still hold subscription records on their side per their own retention policy; we do not control that, but their data is encrypted and never resold.
7. Contact & escalation
If your request is not actioned in the timeline above, escalate to our Grievance Officer.
